We have learned different things in class so far on certain strategies that are good for going into teaching. Something that I have found really interesting is the strategy of Puzzle Reading and Projects. I decided to try this with my students during social studies time. We had been learning about different continents and hemispheres. I told them that they were to break up into groups and then read in their books about the four different hemispheres. They were to find out what continents were in each and work together as a group to form there own hemispheres. I was able to really get an informal assessments of how much they new by this assignment!
